FISU Conference Information

In 2013 the 27th Summer Universiade Kazan 2013 and the FISU Conference will coincide with the 90th anniversary of the First World University Games in Paris 1923. This year, Kazan will be the host city for the FISU Conference from July 14 – 17, 2013. The conference participants will have an opportunity to witness sport events, as well as enjoy the historical part of Kazan as a part of the social and cultural programme.

The objective of the FISU Conference is to attract to Kazan academicians and scientists, sport events organisers, as well as to create the platform to introduce the main sport achievements to the conference participants, to initiate the discussion and decision making process in the field of sport and education, knowledge and experience exchange.

 

Eight subthemes will be addressed during the FISU Conference in Kazan:

  • Historical, cultural and social aspects of University and Olympic sport.
  • Legacy benefits of staging a Universiade or Olympic Games.
  • Dual career issues for student athletes.
  • The role of Media in University and Olympic sport.
  • Traditional and innovative technologies in University and Olympic sport.
  • Leading a healthy lifestyle: how can University and Olympic sport contribute?
  • The place of sport in different educational systems.
  • Women in University and Olympic sport.
