Canoe sprint. Results of tournament

The canoe sprint competitions concluded at the Rowing Centre on July 15. In total, athletes played for 24 sets of medals in this sport.

In competitions in the 1000 m kayak singles, the first place went to the athlete from Portugal Fernando Pimenta. The silver went to Brazilian Aleh Yurenia, and the bronze medal was won by the athlete from Poland, Rafal Rosolski.

Competition in the 1000 m canoe singles was won by the athlete from Hungary Tamas Kiss. Taking the silver medal was Sergey Emelyanov of Kazakhstan, and third place went to the Russian canoeist Ilya Shtokalov.

The men’s 1000 m kayak doubles was won by the Polish pair, which defeated the Russian team of Vitaly Yurchenko and Basil Pogreban, who took the silver medal. The bronze went to the Hungarian pair of athletes.

First place in men’s 1000 m canoe doubles was won by the Russian pair, the second place went to a pair from the Czech Republic and Poland took the bronze.

Third place in the 1000 m kayak fours was divided between Hungary and Belarus, Poland was in second place, while the gold medal went to Russia.

The canoe fours competition was won by the Ukrainian team. The Russian team came in second place, and the bronze medal went to Poland.

In competitions in the women’s 200 m kayak singles, the first place was won by Natalia Podolskaya of Russia. Silver medal went to Belarusian athlete Marharyta Tsishkevich, and the bronze medal went to the athlete from Serbia, Nikolina Moldovan. Among the men in this category, the gold was won by Ignas Navakauskas of Lithuania, the second place went to Italian Manfredi Rizza, and the third was taken by the Russian Oleg Kharitonov.

The competition in the men’s 500 m kayak singles was won by Fernando Pimenta of Portugal, second place went to the German athlete Martin Schubert, and the bronze went to the Russian Viktor Andryushkin. In the women’s 500 m kayak singles, the gold medal went to Marina Litvinchuk of Russia, the silver was taken by Polish athlete Edyta Dzieniszewska, and the bronze medal went to Milica Starovic of Serbia. 

Competitions in the men’s 200 m kayak doubles ended in a victory for the pair from Russia. Second place went to the team from Slovakia, and third place went to Poland. For women in the same category, the Belarusian pair took the gold, the silver went to athletes from Serbia, and the Russian team won bronze.

The men’s 500 m kayak doubles competition was won by athletes from Belarus, second place went to Poland, and the bronze went to the Russian pair. In the women’s race in this category, the winner was the team from Belarus. Second place went to Russia, and the third to Serbia.

In the men’s 200 m kayak fours competition, the winner was the team from Russia. The second place was taken by the Ukrainian sportsmen, and the bronze went to Poland. Among the women in this category, the gold medal went to the team from Belarus, Russia won the silver and bronze was taken by Spain.

The competition in the men’s 500 m kayak fours competition ended in a victory for Russian athletes. Second place was taken by the athletes from Belarus, and the bronze went to the team from Poland. Among women in this competition, the winner was the team from Russia, second place went to the Ukrainian kayakers, and the bronze to the four ladies from Uzbekistan.

In the men’s 200 m canoe singles competition, the gold went to Jevgeniy Suklin of Latvia, the silver medal went to Andrei Kraitor of Russia, and Belarus took bronze, thanks to athlete Artsem Kozyr.

The men’s 200 m canoe doubles race was won by Russia. Second place in the contest went to the team from the Czech Republic, and the bronze was taken by Belarusian athletes.

In the men’s 500 m canoe fours competition, the gold medal was won by Russia, the second place went to Ukraine, and Uzbekistan took the bronze.
