Rhythmic gymnastics. Preview of competition day

The rhythmic gymnastics competition continues on July 16 at the 27th Summer Universiade with the group all-around with the clubs as well as the individual all-around with the ball and hoop.

The individual all-around will see athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Israel, South Korea, China and Bulgaria competing for 6 sets of medals.

Athletes from Russia, China, Ukraine, Japan and Brazil will be competing in the group all-around competitions.

Yesterday, July 15, two sets of medals were awarded in the group and individual all-around.

The team from Russia took gold in the group all-around final, with silver going to Ukraine and Japan coming in third.

The first day of finals in the individual all-around brought gold and silver medals to Russian athletes Margarita Mamun and Alexandra Merkulova, respectively, with Ukraine’s Anna Rizatdinova taking bronze.

The rhythmic gymnastics competition at the Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan will be held from July 14 to the 16, with a total of 8 sets of medals up for grabs. The competition is taking place in the Gymnastics Center.
