Mokhnatkina won the gold medal of the Summer Universiade 2013 in the weight category up to 68 kg on Tuesday, beating the Ukrainian woman Luiza Gainutdinova, 4-0.

"Actually, I expected a little longer competion, since it’s a final and the opponent is very worthy. She and I have met on the carpet not for the first time, but the third one. During the meetings there were times when I lost her in scoring, but I won her on the ground in the end. I did not expect to be able to do the submission move so quickly. Support of the audience matters much, thanks to them. Everything happened as it’d been planned,”- said Mokhnatkina to the agency R-Sport. “It's a pleasure to get this award,” - continued the champion of the Games in Kazan. “The Universiade is a great holiday for sambo. We have never had such level of organization, such support. This is just a delight, you get a new feeling here. I would like sambo to be included in the Universiade programme in  future, too. I think we haven’t dropped a clanger.”
