The victory of the Russian volleyball players at the Universiade cannot be considered to be easy, Sergey Shlyapnikov, head coach of the Russian national team, said.
In the final, the Russian team defeated the team from Poland with a score of 3-0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:19).
“We won not all matches with an obvious advantage. The team showed its mettle, we prepared, as we played home. The victory was expected, but we gained it not so easily. We had strong rivals, the matches were difficult, and there were injuries. Everything happened. We passed it and won,” Shlyapnikov said to the R-Sport journalist. He commented on the match between the Russian and Polish teams as follows: “It was difficult, there were mistakes. But they happened because of tiredness. We did everything we had to do. We wanted to win more, we made more efforts and showed our mettle to win today.”
