Head coach of the Russian national team Sergey Shlyapnikov stated that diagonal player of Belogorie Maksim Zhigalov deserved the highest mark for his performance at the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan.

Zhigalov became the best player of the tournament, and Russia won Poland in the final with the score 3-0.
"When a person sees that he is trusted, all hopes are focused on him, he changes. The motivation of a player is of great importance. He starts working differently when he is trusted. Zhigalov can grow into a true master. Zhigalov hasn't yet been seen performing like here. Coaches have to be more attentive to this player," Shlyapnikov said to journalist of R-Sport.
