27th Summer Universiade in Kazan,

July 6-17 2013

Ilsur Metshin: During the Universiade transportation by carriers was free of charge, but, certainly, there was compensation

After winning the right to hold the Universiade in Kazan the city took a duty to organise free transportation for viewers of the competitions too.

We remind that with the ticket residents and guests could go free of charge around Kazan by public transport.

"We fulfilled the FISU requirement, thank you to carriers," the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin stated to journalists at today's press-conference. He said that in the operating budget the definite sum was allotted for these aims.

"Unfortunately, it can't cover 100% of  the city's motor transport enterprises' expenses. But we are very thankful to them as they understood the historic significance of the event, and accepted the sponsor's participation for that uncompensated sum; there are a lot of sponsors and partners of the Universiade. Therefore we managed to cover their direct expenses partially. They transported without fees, but, certainly, there was compensation" the Mayor said.
