Luginets won the gold medal of the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan in the 50 m rifle three positions. In the final of the competitons he was the first with the score of 457.5 points. The silver went to Chinese Kan Hongwei (449.7), the bronze went to Tomasz Bartnik from Poland (441.6).

"I am very pleased with this gold medal. Just happy because I have won the last medal of this Universiade. After the silver medal I wanted the gold very much, it was just not enough for the complete collection of the medals, and now all Universiade medals are collected. I was sure that I would go out and just have a good work in the final. I was not sure about medal because I did not know how the others would shoot. But, as it happened, the others shot a little bit worser, and I was pleased with it. In the end, when the gap between the Chinese reached four points, I calmed down and just worked with pleasure. I dedicate this victory to my father, he is my personal trainer "- Luginets said in a conversation with the reporters of R-Sport.

During the final of the competitions Russian took second and third place, and after the shooting from the standing position came forward, and opponents could not catch up with him. "The standing position is very precarious, basically everything happens here - someone loses it, and someone scores ten points and wins. Due to good standing shooting I was able to stay in the first place, and the Chinese were not made of steel and were failing. Shooting from the standing position is my strong point, because all the time I almost gave to the trainings of standing position, and, as it turned out, it was not in vain," Luginets concluded.
