Mayor of Gwangju wants to bring together Korea's united national team at Summer Universiade 2015

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) Flag has been solemnly transferred to the representatives of the Organising Committee of the next Summer Universiade, which will be held in the South Korean city of Gwangju in 2015.

Kang Un-Tae, the Mayor of Gwangju – the host city of the next Summer Universiade – announced during the Closing Ceremony of the Games in Kazan that he hopes that Korea will be presented by a united national team at the next World University Games.

"I would love to bring together a united national team of South and North Korea (at the Games in 2015). I hope that we will meet again in 2 years' time in Gwangju, and then we will be able to share love and friendship together," said Mayor Kang Un-Tae. The official Closing Ceremony of the Kazan Universiade, during which the transfer of the FISU Flag took place, is being held at this moment in the Kazan Arena Stadium in Tatarstan's capital.
