A week passed since the end of the Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan. And the feedback on the 2013 Summer Universiade, which turned out to be the best and largest World University Games in the history of FISU, continue to come from all parts of the world. And, all of them are positive.

The Games in Kazan were record-breaking in terms of the number of participants (almost 12,000) and competing countries (160) and sports (27), and medal events (351 in total).

Athletes of 70 out of 160 countries brought home 160 Universiade medals. As has been repeatedly written and announced, Russia won the all-time record number of medals at the Games (292: 155 gold, 75 silver and 62 bronze). The athletes of Tatarstan made an important contribution to the Russian team's medal haul. They won 40 medals at the Universiade, 20 of them are gold.

The second place in the medal count was taken by the Chinese team (26-29-22), Japan placed third (24-28-32), the South Koreans are fourth (12.17.12), Belarusians are fifth (13-13-14), Ukrainians are sixth (12-29-36), the US team is seventh (11-14-15).

1,165 medals in 351 events were grabbed by representatives of 70 countries. Among them are such exotic ones like Chile, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Albania. These countries rejoiced at just one medal won by their representatives.
