Training seminar to be held in Kazan for Tatarstan media

A training seminar for students and sports media of Tatarstan, titled “The Media as the Tool for Shaping Principles of Fair Play”, will be held on July 19 as part of the Fair Play events. The organisers of the seminar are the FISU International Education Centre and Executive Directorate for Sports Projects. The target audience of the project includes Tatarstan media representatives and sports journalists of Kazan.

A one-day seminar programme features a meeting with Merited Master of Sports of Russia, four-time Olympic fencing champion Stanislav Pozdnyakov, masterclasses by Nikolay Dolgopolov, Chairman of the Russian Fair Play Committee, and Asimina Tsellou, Media Manager of the International Fencing Federation. Speakers and participants of the seminar will discuss principles of fair play, activities of the International Fair Play Committee and the main aspects of communications between journalists and press manager at the event.

Among other events on the programme are a tour of the Fair Play-themed exhibition at the Universiade Museum (which will soon be available for citizens of Kazan and people visiting the city) and the signing of a trilateral memorandum of understanding between Volga Region Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia and Federation of Sports Journalists of Tatarstan. The programne of the training seminar will end with the Fair Play Gala 2014 where the International Fair Play Committee will present annual awards and special prizes.
