July 6-17 2013

Russia's rising stars in rhythmic gymnastics will gather in Kazan

There are only a few days left until the Rhythmic Gymnastics Russian Cup and Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Championship, another two test events held ahead of the 2013 Summer Universiade.

The competitions will take place on November 12-16. Merited Coach of Russia and Uzbekistan and President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova, two-time Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Evgenia Kanaeva, silver medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games Daria Dmitrieva, 2010 Youth Olympic Games сhampion Alexandra Merkulova will be among the special guests in Kazan.

It is expected that 38 teams of 6 athletes from 35 regions of Russia will take part in the rhythmic gymnastics group competitions whereas the Russian Cup will bring together 36 gymnasts. The competitions will take place in the Gymnastics Centre, one of the largest gymnastics complexes in Russia. The venue is most likely to become a home for the national rhythmic gymnastics junior team.

The rhythmic gymnastics test events will help to check key aspects of the Kazan 2013 OC's operational readiness before the Summer Universiade rhythmic gymnastics events. All comers are welcome to attend the competitions. Tickets for both test events are already available at www.kassir-kazan2013.ru, the website of the Official Ticket Operator of the Kazan 2013 Summer Universiade KASSIR.RU. Due to the fact that rhythmic gymnastics' popularity is strongly influenced by visual appeal and body aesthetics, the tickets for these events are the most expensive ones but remain reasonably affordable for everyone. The prices will range from 240 to 300 rubles. The programme of both competitions will feature 14 medal events: individual all-around and group all-around.
