As we earlier reported, the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Championship and Russian Cup intended to serve as test events ahead of the 27th Summer Universiade. They helped to fully check key aspects of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate's operational readiness before the Summer Universiade rhythmic gymnastics events. Moreover, the competitions allowed to test the ticketing programme, volunteer management, press operations and other functional areas.

It should be noted that an artistic gymnastics test event is also expected to be held at the Gymnastics Centre in the build-up to the Games.
