Kazan 2013 World Cycling Tour: Reaching Dallas

Two bicycle tourists from Kazan - Alen Khairullin and Pavel Grachev - who embarked on a world cycling tour commemorating the upcoming 2013 Summer Universiade and the 100th anniversary of Onisim Pankratov's journey around the world, have recently reached Dallas, one of the most populous cities in the state of Texas, reports the Press Office of Tatarstan's Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism.

The cyclists crossed the Texas border from the Louisiana side. They made stops in such cities as Delhi, Arcadia, Marshall, Grand Saline to later make it to Dallas. "We are in Dallas! And, as Pavel has mentioned earlier, it is not only the geographic centre of the United States but also the middle of our journey. Let's celebrate the midcourse now!" the bicycle tourists shared the good news with their social media followers. Alen and Pavel will stay in Dallas until Saturday. The travellers, who have already covered the distance of 10,000km, continue their journey towards the West Coast of the United States.

The world cycling tour commemorating the upcoming 2013 Summer Universiade and the 100th anniversary of Onisim Pankratov's journey around the world kicked off in Kazan on 3 November 2012. The cyclists Pavel Grachev and Alen Khairullin are expected to end their journey by July 6, the opening day of the World University Games.
