Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship: Results of Day 1

There were three gold medals up for grabs on Day 1 of the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship in Kazan.


Duet Technical Routine

The debut appearance of the duo Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Svetlana Romashina at the national championship can be hailed a success. Both girls absolutely deserved the scores given to them for their technical routine: two 10s for technical merit and artistic impression and nine 9.9s. Moscow's duet finished as runner-up while the duo from the Republic of Tatarstan claimed bronze medals with a margin of 0.2 points over Moscow's Ilona Timofeeva and Gelena Topilina.

2. Diana Ali/Anastasia Tabolina (Moscow) – 92.2000

3. Yana Zhigunova/Lilia Nizamova (Republic of Tatarstan) – 91.3000

Solo Technical Routine

Lilia Nizamova outclassed all her rivals in the solo event. Receiving equally high scores for technical merit and artistic impression, the synchro swimmer from Tatarstan topped the standings with more than 1.5 points ahead of her nearest competitor.

2. Ekaterina Pertseva (Moscow) – 91.2000

3. Lyubov Leshchik (Moscow) – 90.9000


Group Technical Routine

Tatarstan's synchro group also made it to the podium, finishing in third place. The gold and silver medals went to the swimmers of Moscow. 

1. Moscow (Topilina, Astakhova, Timofeeva, Kuteinikova, Pertseva, Shestakovich, Parshenkova, Shtefan) – 93.9000

2. Moscow (Tregubova, Voynova, Sychuk, Gorskina, Kuzmina, Chicherina, Grazhdan, Ebralidze) – 92.9000

3. Republic of Tatarstan (Vanifatova, Zhigunova, Rybakova, Yurkina, Zakharova, Litvinova, Mitrofanova, Nizamova) – 91.6000.

Day 2 of the championship will feature the duet and group free routines. The events start at 11.00am and 6.00pm. Admission is free.
