Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship: Day 2 summary

Two medal events - the duet and group free routines - took place on an action-packed second day of competition at the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship.

Moscow's duo Darina Valitova and Evgenia Podberezkina won gold with a stunning display in the duet free routine final. The judges gave high scores to their difficulty level and the synchronicity of movements, thus putting them ahead of two other synchro swimmers from Moscow Anastasia and Daria Bayandinas. The bronze medals went to the duet from the Republic of Tatarstan Lilia Nizamova and Alina Rybakova, both are students of the Naberezhnye Chelny Branch of Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. 

Duet Free Routine

1. Moscow (Darina Valitova, Evgenia Podberezkina) – 94.0900

2. Moscow (Anastasia Bayandina, Daria Bayandina) – 93.1400

3. Republic of Tatarstan (Lilia Nizamova, Alina Rybakova) – 91.3400.

The high degree of difficulty and perfect execution of elements earned the synchro swimmers of Moscow gold in the group free routine, with the Republic of Tatarstan walking away with bronze medals.

1. Moscow (Volozneva, Ivleva, Ilyina, Kubyshkina, Mazurova, Mironova, Neborako, Pozdnyakova) – 95.0800.

2. Moscow (Bornyakova, Gorskina, Kuzmina, Polyanskaya, Salmina, Solovyeva, Sychuk, Ebralidze) – 93.4000.

3. Republic of Tatarstan (Vanifatova, Zhigunova, Zakharova, Litvinova, Mitrofanova, Nizamova, Rybakova, Yurlina) – 91.8800.

The Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship concludes on April 26.
