It was difficult for Prokopyeva at Universiade, despite not fast pace of running

Russian runner Alina Prokopyeva stated that it was hard for her to run the 10,000m race at the Universiade in Kazan, although jogging pace wasn’t her highest.

On Sunday Prokopyeva won silver, losing 6.76 seconds to the winner of the race, Ayuko Suzuki, Japanese woman who overcame the distance in 32 minutes 54.17 seconds, said R-Sport. Bronze went to Japanese Mai Tsuda (20.42). "I am very pleased. I wanted to win, but barely failed. I held the last kilometre of the last effort, I’m glad I was able to get the silver. I think it's affected by the heat, it was hard, though the pace wasn’t high for me," said Prokopyeva to the reporters at a press conference after the ceremony. The runner noted that when running a distance, she did not hear anything around. "I was praying to God and waited for the finish in the race," she explained.
