The gold went to the 2011 World Championship bronze medallist Anisya Kirdyapkina with a time of 1 hour 29 minutes and 30 seconds, setting a new record at the Summer Universiade 2013. Irina Yumanova finished with a time of 1 hour 30 minutes and 41 seconds. In third place, Lina Bikulova’s time was 1:32:30, R-Sport reports. “The track here is clearly not easy. There is a weird climb right away. I liked that the distance of the lap was 1km, the spectators were closer together and there was a lot more of them. At times, that made it easier to race. I was planning for a better result than what I achieved. However, this is a very important competition for me, because it is one of my first competitions on an international level. This is wonderful experience for my future career,” Bikulova told reporters after the awards ceremony. The track and field athlete does not think that she will be able to compete at the World Championships in Moscow. “I’ve thought about it, for sure, but we have a very strong team and I think that they will do fine without me,” she clarified.
