Runner Krasnov: I was ready to battle for the medal

The Russian track and field athlete who became the 27th Summer Universiade champion in Kazan shared his impressions after the performance.

After the victory in the 400 m event, the Russian Vladimir Krasnov was satisfied with the result and said that it is too early to relax and celebrate. “You can’t be absolutely sure of your victory before the heat but I wanted to get the medal so I was ready to battle for it,” the Universiade winner told.

Now Vladimir is starting the preparation for the next competitions in athletics programme of the Universiade in Kazan. “I will sleep a lot – it is the best way to recover after a difficult competition day. It is yet too early to relax as there are four more competitions ahead at the Games,” Krasnov said.
