Artistic gymnastics. Results of tournament

On July 10, at the Gymnastics Center, the last day of competition in artistic gymnastics came to an end. 10 sets of medals were up for grabs: 6 - for men and 4 - for women. In total, the Universiade artistic gymnastics competition had 14 medal events.

The women's team event, held on the first day of competition, was won by the Russian national team, which gained 175.500 points and beat opponents by 10.5 points. Japan placed second with 165.000 points, while Germany took third place, earning 162.050 points.

Also, the Russian team won the men's team event, leaving Ukraine in the second, and Japan in the third places.

The women's all-around ended with a victory of the Russian gymnast Aliya Mustafina who scored a total of 57.900 points. Silver medal with a score of 56.850 points also went to the representative of the Russian team Ksenia Afanaseva. Third place was taken by Kim Bui from Germany, whose performance earned 55.200 points.

The men's individual all-around gold was taken by Nikolay Kuksenkov of Russia, who collected 89.950 points. Second place with a score of 89.850 points went to the German gymnast Fabian Hambuechen. The third place in the standings was shared by David Belyavskiy of Russia and Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine, who managed to score 89.600 points.

The men's floor exercise gold was claimed by Japan's Ryohei Kato who showed the result of 15.450 points in the overall standings. The second in the standings was Fabian Hambuechen, who collected 15.275 points. Russia's David Belyavskiy finished third and won bronze at the 2013 Summer Universiade.

In the women's vault, victory was shared by North Korea's Hong Un Jong and Ksenia Afanaseva of Russia with a score of 15.125. The third spot on the podium was taken by Russia's Maria Paseka, who showed the result of 14.950.

Nikolay Kuksenkov won in the exercises on the horse, the jury awarded him 15,050 points. Mexican Daniel Corral won the silver medal, losing to Nikolay only one-tenth of points: 14,975 - the result. Ukrainian gymnast Oleg Stepko took bronze, gaining 14,850 points.

Aliya Mustafina again won the Universiade gold: this time in the uneven bars. The gymnast showed the result of 15.200 points. Another Russian gymnast, Tatyana Nabiyeva, won silver and showed the result of 14.525 points. Katharina Hill of Germany was third in the standings with a score of 14,500 points.

Gold medal in the men's rings was grabbed by Brazil's Nabarette Arthur, who collected 15.875 points. Second place with the result of 15.500 went to Russian gymnast Denis Abzyalin. Igor Radivilov of Ukraine took the third place in the standings.

The outcome in the men's vault was as follows: the victory went to Seon Yang of South Korea (15.787 points), second place was taken by Russia's Denis Ablyazin (15.350 points). Ukrainian gymnast Igor Radivilov placed third (15.237 points).

On the balance beam, the overall standings were as follows: gold was claimed by China's Yelinzi Zhang, Aliya Mustafina won silver and bronze medal went to Elsabeth Black of Canada.

Emin Garibov and David Belyavskiy of Russia took the first two spots on the podium in the men's parallel bars, gaining 15.875 and 15.625 points, respectively.

The women's floor exercise programme ended with a victory of Ksenia Afanasyeva of Russia, which scored 14.350 points. Canada's Elsabeth Black took silver, and showed the result of 13.750 points, and the winner was Mexican Elsa Garcia Rodriguez.

The final event for gymnasts was the parallel bars, which ended with a victory of the Russian gymnast Emin Garibov (16.025 points). Silver and bronze medals were taken by Yusuke Tanaka and Ryohei Kato of Japan.

232 athletes from 41 countries took part in the Universiade artistic gymnastics tournament.

In the overall medal standings, the top 10 countries included teams of Russia, Ukraine, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, China, South Korea and North Korea.
