Heptathlete Chernova strenghthens lead at Universiade after long jump

Russian Tatiana Chernova strengthened leadership at the Universiade after the fifth event – the women’s long jump.

Chernova showed the best result - 6,48 metres. Another Russian Kristina Savitskaia became only forth in women’s heptathlon long jump (6,19). Chernova’s total score is 4862 points. Second place went to Laura Ikauniece of Latvia (4582), third to Gyorgyi Zsivoczky-Farkas (4563). Savitskaia is fifth (4530).

The two remaining events of heptathlon are javelin throw and 800 metres. They will be held on Thursday.
