Badminton. Results of tournament

On July 11, the badminton tournament ended in the Tennis Academy. Competing for 6 medal events were 205 athletes from 40 countries.

The winner of the first gold at the Summer Universiade 2013 in a team competition became South Korea, the second place was taken by athletes from China, and third places went to teams from Chinese Taipei and Thailand.

The gold in the mixed doubles in badminton went to men from South Korea – Sanghun Ko and Yongdae Lee, silver to the Russians Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov, and sharing the bronze medals were Dzhihun Hong and Kidzhung Kim from South Korea and a Malaysian pair Wei Sheng Loh and Jagdish Singh.

In the men's singles, the Universiade 2013 gold went to Saensombunsuka Tanongsaka from Thailand, silver to the Chinese athlete Huan Gao, and bronze to Zulkarnaina Iskandara of Malaysia and Chou Tien-Chen of Chinese Taipei.

In women's doubles, first place went to the Korean athletes Iyo Na Chang and Soyong Kim, the silver is going home with representatives of China – Yu Luo and King Tian. Bronze went to Sohee Lee and Singchan Shin from South Korea and Mei Kuan Chow and Meng En Lee from Malaysia.

Gold in the women's singles went to the Koreans Ji Huang Sung, with the silver medal being won by the representative of Chinese Taipei – Tai Tzu-Ying, and the bronze medals were shared by Yao Yu from China and Porntip Buranaprasertsuk from Thailand.

In mixed doubles competition, the gold went to South Korea – Kidzhang Kim and Soyong Kim, in second place came the Chinese pair Cheng Liu and Qing Tian, ​​with bronze going to the Russian pair Vladimir Ivanov and Nina Vislova. In addition, earning bronze were Hung-Ling Chen and Pei-Rong Wang.

In the overall medal standings, the countries with the best badminton players were South Korea, Thailand, China, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and Russia. The most gold medals were won by Team Korea – 5.
