Taylor Pischke: We’ve got a good experience at the Universiade

Canadian volleyball player Taylor Pischke in pair with Melissa Humana-Paredes described her impressions after the semi-final match with the Russian duet Evgenia Ukolova/Ekaterina Khomyakova. In this event, Russians won with a score of 2-0 (21:18, 21:19).

 - Who was your main rival in these competitions?

 - Of course, the Russian team, they are experienced athletes who participated in large competitions. Moreover, they are very clever, and they work in a team. All previous game we played hand in hand. Yes, Russian girls were our strongest rivals and I hope to compete with them again.

- Can you explain the reasons of defeat?

- We did our best and were losing to Russian team in two-three points. Game had really difficult completion; our rivals found additional strength and served well. And, in general, Russians are strong, they have a good preparation.

- What is your impression of the Universiade? What did you like and dislike?

- I think we’ve got a good experience. I came here to gain the experience of such a large-scale event. The Universiade is a very spectacular competition where you can meet new people and get a pile of new impressions. There are many young beginning and professional athletes in different kinds of sport, and you understand that you can respect each of them. I was glad to stay here in this friendly atmosphere of support.
