The Russians beat Thailand, 3-0 (25:18, 25:19, 25:18), on Saturday. Their opponents will be the Brazilian team that won the Polish team in the semi-final (3-1).

"In my experience, this is the first tournament where I meet with Asian teams. It was necessary to build up the tactical scheme against these teams. It was not clear what you had to do - to take a chance on the pitch or to play defense and block. We tried different options and still chose the right one. At parsing, it was stated that Thailand has a problem on the block, and these disadvantages were used in full by us "- said Marichev to the reporters.

The Russian coach noted his team's game on the block and defense. "We knew a team of Thailand has very good reception, as indicated by the statistics. Plus it plays good combination volleyball, and we have seen the greatest difficulty in it. It’s good that our players clearly followed the movements of the attackers from Thailand, choosing the right place on the block. It turned out to be the game of the interaction of the block and defense. Compared with the previous matches, we still raised at what we wanted to be the whole tournament, "- added the coach.

The Universiade women's volleyball tournament final will be held on Monday, July 15.
