Japanese field hockey players take bronze at Universiade

The Japanese women's field hockey team beat Belarus in the match for the third place at the Universiade in Kazan.

The match ended 3-1 in favour of the team of Kazunori Kobayashi. Yuri Nagai scored the winning goals (66th and 67th minute) and Ayaka Nishimura (68). Anna Harutyunyan of the Belarusians also scored (2nd minute). The Belarusian team did not postpone the decision to win the bronze medal, scoring a goal 2 min from the opening. The hockey players in white uniforms were not going to stop there, and repeatedly dissected the defense of the Japanese women. However, they did not manage to repeat their early success. In the second half, the land of the rising sun brightened and seized the initiative. The hockey players in red earned a small corner, created a number of dangerous moments, and eventually a couple of minutes before the end of regular time they scored with two more goals to follow, sealing the victory. In the finals, which start at 18.15 MSK, Russia and South Korea will face off.
