"Of course, I am happy that sambo is included in the Universiade, we are contributing to the medals collection of the Russian team. I evaluate the performance of our sambists as "excellent'. "Well done, everybody tried, wanted to win. Yes, someone was less fortunate, but our results encourage - Emelianenko told to reporters. - Do we have any guarantees that sambo will be presented at the next Universiade? This question is not to me. This is a question to the President of the Sambo Federation. I think that the FISU (International University Sports Federation) will make the certain conclusions, assessing the beauty of our kind of sport,"- he added. The athlete said that sambo is still on a long way before the sport will be able to enter the Olympic programme. "Sambo is needed to be promoted in the world. We have many schools, and the kids are coming with pleasure (to go in for sports). The representatives of sambo successfully participate in mixed martial arts. Frankly speaking, we need to do a great job to include sambo in the Olympic programme".

Emelianenko, the President of the Russian Union of Mixed Martial Arts, has expressed the hope that the sport, the development of which he is engaged, has a great future. "Acting, developing, but we still have a lot of work to get into the FISU. Our sport is young, only one year old. But we are developing very quickly, we hope that our sport will have a great future", - concluded the world ex-champion.
