French pair is pleased with bronze medals in table tennis tournament

Losing in the semifinals of the table tennis tournament in the pair category to Russians, Frenchmen Romain Lorentz and Thomas Le Breton became bronze medalists. After the game, coach of the French national team Patrick Chila shared his thoughts about competitions.

- We are very sad because we had just lost the semi-final - said Chila. - But still we have one medal. We got the bronze medal in the men's pairs. This was our goal, so all is good.

- What has not sufficed you to go to the final?

- A lot of stuff. In the first set, the score was 9:10. Perhaps, if we could win it, we would have had a chance of a medal. But the Russians are stronger than us.

- What do you think of the organization of tournament?

- It's really good. Reminiscent of the Olympic Games. Very useful for athletes to participate in such competitions.

Romain Lorentz confirmed the coach's words, saying that Russian athletes were stronger.

- Perhaps, we could get different results, but Russia - a very strong opponent. I'm happy with the way I played in a pair, but things could've been better in the individual standings. However, I would love to come back here. Unfortunately, we have not managed to take a walk around the city, but we hope to do it tomorrow.
