Volleyball. Preview of competition day

On 15 July, the final game and the match for bronze medals of the women’s volleyball tournament will take place at the 27th Summer Universiade. In the men’s tournament, the teams will determine who will take the 5th to 16th places.

The national women’s teams of Russia and Brazil will play in the final game. The volleyball players from Thailand and Poland will play to determine who will take third place. The Czech Republic and Canada will compete for places 5 and 6, and Brazil and Korea will play for places 7 and 8.

The day before, the men’s semifinals took place. The national team of Ukraine was defeated by Poland (2:3), and Russia beat Japan (3:1).

In the women’s tournament, Japan won a victory over Canada (3:0), South Korea outplayed Chinese Taipei (3:1); and Chile defeated Hong Kong (3:2).

The volleyball competitions at the 2013 Summer Universiade take place from 6 July to 16 July at Bustan, Zilant, Olympiets, and Tulpar sports complexes, as well as at Saint-Petersburg Volleyball Centre.

2 sets of medals will be awarded to the volleyball teams.
