On August 2, 2012 Vyatka State University of Humanities signed a cooperation agreement with the Executive Directorate of the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan and received the official status of ‘HEI of the 2013 Summer Universiade’.

Vyatka State University of Humanities is the oldest and largest higher educational establishment in the Kirov Region. It was founded in 1914 as Vyatka Teachers’ Institute. The university has been known under its current name since 2002.

Currently, the university enrolls over 12,000 students across 15 faculties.

The faculty and teaching staff includes over 600 researchers and teachers, nearly 400 of them are doctors of sciences and PhDs. Each year Vyatka State University of Humanities participates in various international programmes, including student exchange projects and actively cooperates with top universities of the USA, Germany, France, China and other countries.

The university works hard to promote a healthy lifestyle, to develop physical culture and university sports. It runs an out-of-town training camp and a state-of-the-art sports complex. Athletic teams of the university defend their alma mater’s honour at competitions of all sizes and scopes.
