On March 12, 2012 the State University of Management and Sport Industry Management Faculty affiliated to the Innovation in Education Centre RMA signed a cooperation agreement with the Executive Directorate of the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan and received the official status of ‘HEI of the 2013 Summer Universiade’.

The State University of Management is the leading Russian university in the field of management education. Over 90 years of its existence the university has prepared more then 100,000 professionals for various branches of economics, management and sociology.

Today the State University of Management is the largest management university with more than 15,000 students. The faculty and teaching staff include over 1,140 people (915 of them have academic degrees, 260 are doctors of sciences).

All conditions are created at the university to encourage students and teachers to live a healthy way of life. The university has a football stadium, running tracks, a hockey pitch, and playing fields. Grassroots sports events are held for schoolchildren and students of higher education institutions in the city of Moscow.

In 2011 the State University of Management was recognised as a 'Higher Education Institution of a Healthy Lifestyle'.

The university actively promotes volunteer movement. The Luchik (‘Small Stream of Light’) Social Student Team renders support to children who have been depraved of parents’ affection, care and kindness since they were infants. It currently implements programmes aimed at selecting and training volunteers for the 2013 Summer Universiade and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. The volunteers take part in sporting events held in the city Moscow in the build-up to the Games.

Maria Shkvarunets. Master of Sport in Sambo, gold medallist at the 2010 World Sambo Championship, five-time gold medallist at the 2010 World Grappling Championship, repeat grappling and full-contact jujitsu gold medallist at Russian, European and world championships, champion and medal winner at international and national combat sambo tournaments in 2009-2012.
